What are Red Dot cones? Dunlop?

George

dunlop are the original ones, and the common choice when replacing the rubbers

Red Dot rubbers are slightly stiffer and used on track/race cars. Offer less roll but makes the ride a bit harsh on a road car. But worth it.

Are these different than "Genuine Moulton rubber cone spring, MHK10004" from Mini Spares?

Those donuts from MiniSpares are the same ones I just got from MiniSport in Padiham - Moulton code etc. I also got the Moulton Smootharide cones for the front as I am now of an age where I would rather have a BIT of comfort and I'm not too bothered anymore about being a boy-racer (60 last June!) I hope these do more than Rover's offering of 7500 miles - as I said, if I'd had bought components which failed so miserably and so quickly from a company that was still trading, I would have seen them in the small claims court!
That aside, I am really happy with the way the Injected Estate is performing, quite an improvement from the earlier stuff I had. Not needing a Cat, it returned 45mpg on the round trip from Orkney to IMM 2009 plus a bit of visiting thrown in. As long as there was more than half a gallon in the tank I could even hoof it round left handers without a splutter, and it's not really a good idea to go that low on fuel anyway. I can't think of any way of improving that as the van tank is rather low anyway and I got the pick up flat to the bottom of the tank when I fitted the pump - anyway that's another thread to start perhaps?
