Hey peeps

From scratch if you had the choice, what exhaust would you fit to a turbo mini running a t25?

I've been reading "Tuning the A-Series Engine" and he says, a car running toomuch back pressure will cause turbo stall and loss of power

So what is the best on the market for the money/looks/ and efficiency turbo doodar.

Will

posting picks of the systems would be nice :)

build one yourself, 2.5" all the way from the turbo would be nice.

i built mine, 2" stainless from the turbo to a small cherry bomb at the back.

this will sound strange, but !!

That will be a bit loud lol. Im planing in driving this down to the south of france. Ive got a large Exhaust tunnel so maybe i can stick a round box in there.

Id rither have a nice sounding exhaust then a rubbish loud one.

Don't you just hate garry boys in there sh*tty saxos with loud exhausts. !!!

don't forget you've got a big turbine creating a massive restriction in your exhaust....

my mate runs a 2 inch pipe all the way no silencers when he's racing and it's about as loud as an mpi with a playmini on.

I have a stainless 2" fletcher system with 3" tail pipe on my turbo. this is the best exhaust i have ever bought, in that the build quality is superb and it flows well with little restriction. the noise is not excessive because the turbo does act as a "rotary muffler" :teehee:

as bud says you sholdnt have too many issues with it being noisy,

I have the single box maniflow 2" turbo system on mine, and its much much quiter than my RC40 on my other car.

basically as long as you have some form of silencer it will be ok on the road

There are no 998 exhausts.

What I would say though, is that the length of the downpipe is ony really an issue if you are running the metro T3. If you were running anything else you would have to modify the downpipe and make a new turbo elbow anyway. And in my opinion (and experience) a 998 with a metro T3 on will make a rubbish road car.

Well thw R5 T2 is now a well proven route to 120bhp on a 998. My next 998 turbo will use a GT15, on paper these are better than the T2, with a lower bost threshold. But it's tricky to find out which one is which, I'm still not sure the one I have is right.
