Right I've got a 92 cooper with an spi engine. And I bought a different exhaust, it is a 1300cc stage one centre exit with link pipe and freeflow manifold. When I was fitting it I realised I had to modify the centre branch of the manifold so the injection unit sat on it, so I heated the pipe and bent it in a bit, then I had to weld a boss onto the manifold to fit the lambda sensor which I did.
Now it's all in and starts up first time every time but is idling way too high, I'll turn the ignition on and the rev counter will be at about 2 thousand revs. But when I drive it's alright until I slow down back to idling and it will go back to 2 or 3 thousand revs.
Has anyone had this problem before?? Do I need to get my ecu kinda retuned or something??
Any help would be much appreciated
cheers
