Hi Guys, can you just clear up my head regarding diffs?

Whats the diiference in the final drive with 2.9, 3.4, 3.6, etc, whats to be gained or lost with these diffs. The reason i ask is our mini, a 1275 sprite last of the carb models will be getting some work done on it in winter.
weber 45 carb stage 3 head fast road cam innocenti con rods etc. I dont know what the diff is on at the moment but will it be worth changing? Looking for quick acceleration more than top end speed, used as a dailly drive around town with a bit of occasional motorway use.

Thanks

Well the higher the number so 3.7 or 4.2 will have much better acceleration but lower top end than a 2.9 Final Drive, this is simplistic. Most minis came with a 3.44 Final Drive.
