hi guys picked up another mini today ! this one will be a project as it was cheaper to buy another than repair my black shell ! its a 1275/1300cc K reg with red bucket seats and also has harnesses and a rollcage

originally baught as a donor but it looks to be a lot better than my black shell so will be using this one instead(some of u might have seen it on ebay)

the body looks to be rock solid only rust is outer sills and hole in 1 wing

it does have a clutch/gearbox problem where if left in netural with the engine on it dosent move but if engine turned off you push it and u are turning the engine(so its slightly in gear) does anybody know what this is? it will go into moest gears exepet second from a standing start tho i havent been able to drive it anywhere yet(pushed on trailer)

hi plan is to strip off the engine and subframes chuck in a new set of shells and rings in the engine while cleaning and polishing any components then paint the engine and bay rustproof the whole car,repace the neccsary panels(both Apanels and adding a fiberglass flipfront) also sills need changing and a tiny patch underneath

after that give it a respray in the dark MPI blue i think it is then get on the road with her ! my last mini i baught as a solid shell that turned out to be totally rotten so for the price of welding that one i just baught a new one ! old shell is up for sale(needs a few patches,inner and outer sills) im moving this weekend so i have to figure out how to move around 14 cars over 100 mile !

good luck with the moving 14 cars mate lol, i missed out on the auction for that mini, i found it was cheaper to buy a welder and do all the work myself including re-sprays.just an idea dont no how you are with that sort of thing, good luck with her mate.what rust proof you using?

lol we have a few friends that are helping us move so we are taking 3 cars at a time aswell as using a truck to take the house stuff

how come you missied out on the auction?

i dont know what rust proof to use at the moment but it has to be good stuff as we all know how minis rust !

drove it today doing about 30-40mph as the grinding noise on the box was getting quieter with speed when suddenly both front wheels locked solid with a massive BANG! and almoest put me in the side of our landrover ! i slid about 50 foot !! also had a lot of smoke from the clutch and a massive oil slick !
