rover mini 1.3mpi
1997
The problem is it misfires during acceleration under pressure, it idles ok but when i pull away theres alot of hesitation/misfire, i have replaced labda sensor, manifold airtemperature sensor and the crank case sensor, also the spark plugs and ht leads which are in the right order and the ecu i have had tested. the funny thing is when i disconnct the manifold air temperature sensor the car runs fine, even though it has been replaced as new.
I am a new member to this site and would appreciate some help from all you fellow mini finatics out there.

oh yeh and thanks in advance

Hello there, welcome to the forum.
This is a bit of a shot in the dark but my car had a juddering problem and sounds a bit similar to your cars symptoms.

I dont know what its called but on the right of the inlet manifold, to the right at the back there was a electrical connectoin that was causing my problems...When i turned my lights on it said that the main beam was on and it wasnt and the dash also said that all the indicators were permanently on...when they worked. Oh and when i turned he lights off the window wipers flapped hahaha. But yeah like i said was only a small electrical connection that caused all the stuttering and a week of non driving. Il try and find a picture so i can show u the connection.

Its a white connection  if that helps

Managed to get a pic, The arrow shows where abouts the connection was. by the way not my car.

Possibly the rubber hose has deteriorated on your nylon vacuum hoses. Can't say where they are on an mpi but i'm sure there would be one to your MAP sensor, which controls the advance of your engine.

Not saying for certain but something else to check

I think you are referring to th SPi which is very different to the MPi?

The only vacuum hose is between the manifold and the pressure regulator, all the sensors are transducer type.

See below - also, my guess is that the O Rings have perished in the Fuel Pressure Regulator, not considered a serviceable part but if you take it apart carefully and source the correct size and material (nitrile) you can do it.

Thankyou very much people you are all ace.
nicksuth that was the next sensor to change the sensor is £139 which i thaught was a little expensive, so i think i might just try the O rings just 4 fun.
i shall get back with how i get on.
