Model: Austin Mini City E
Year: 1982
Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible):
Just a quick question;
I got a master and slave cylinder off ebay the other day and went to the scrappy yesterday to get the mounting plate. However while fitting it today, I've found out that the rubber tube coming off the slave cylinder isn't actually long enough to stretch through the hole where it joins the pipe coming from the master cylinder (next to the engine earth) when it is mounted on the plate!?
Were there different types of slave cylinder or has this just got the wrong tube on it? There was a longer tube on the Mini I removed the mounting plate from so I may have to go back and get that unless i'm missing something stupidly obvious :D?

thanks again!
Any non-standard parts that might be involved with the problem?
N/A

That looks like a pre Verto slave on a Verto clutch.

Good scrapyard find though!

I always used a pre-verto slave on my verto clutch. Came from factory like this (early verto. Doesn't work the other way around, IIRC)... But as far as I know the pre-verto hose is shorter, because the pre-verto slave sits higher, where the verto mounting plate bolts on top of the transmission case.

Yours looks like a early Verto clutch too... (flywheel cover with verto clutch arm & timing cover :D)
