hi, i need some advice from a body shop type person. i want to know if there is somthing i can do to lighten the colour of my car, with out respraying it, could i put a pearl colour over the top or somthing like that????????

to put a pearl over it you'll need to take the laquer down before painting on the pearl then laquer over the top of that....

it will make it look good (better if already mettalic paint), but given the cost of a pearl effect paint, you're prob best off just respraying it the colour you want...

hope thats of some help.....

if you want to go for a non standard effect paint still.... check out www.rage-extreme.com, you cant go far wrong with those :wink:

the paint isn't laquerd, so i could just key the serface and put the peal on? or would just laquering the car make the colour lighter?

if its not laquered...then yeah you could add the pearl to it then laquer over that... :wink:

but im not sure how the pearl will look on solid red (i take it it is that car your on about)

just laquering it wont lighten it tho', it'll just make it more shiny :sad:

saw a blue pearl on a red before, turned into a bright pink / purple flip, looked proper cool but slightly gay lol :)

yeah is the car i have as me little pic, i don't really want to have a full respray because of the cost it was srayed this time last yeah becasue it had a new front put on but i want to make it look more sporty, so im having sports pack archs and side skirts put on and a set of big revos. who would be good to ask about the colour of peal effect i go for?
