my 1996 fiesta 1.25 wont start,i got in it this morning to go to work, put key in turned it and nothing happened, althou i heard fuel pump and all dials work, its been playing up for a few days but generally been starting til now that is,

when i turn the igniton to start and hold it,you can hear something spinning and lightly grinding?
anyone have any ideas as this is my daily driver.

yes i own a mini,so no need for any fiesta wise cracks :I found it terribly humorous:

heres a video of it playing up!!!

that sounds like the starter motor is kaput! give it a smack with the hammer whilst somone else is trying to start it as sometimes they can jam and need a wallop to free them off. this can work but is not %100 effective all the time!

yeah i reckon its your starter motor to, it may have sheered teeth of the starter, or worse the flywheel. best thing to do is whip it out and have a look.
