I've been having a chat with a local parts supplier about the britparts electronic ignition kit, if I can get enough orders then I'm able to supply a COMPLETE kit for £35, that the distributor module AND the correct coil as well.

This kit will fit the 45d type distributor and is very easy to fit

How many peeps would be interested in this?

I would think that postage would be about £4.50, so thats a full kit for under £40 delivered!!

Whadda ya think?

£35? £4.5 postage?

That price is literally mental.

Put me down for one.

Edit - Thought that was for the distributor + coil, not module + coil.

Seeing as I don't even know if the dizzy I have is any good, don't put me down for one... :(

Put me down for one as well.. I will pay the extra postage cost to New Zealand. That is as long as I can pay by PayPal or something along those lines?

I've got a sample one here now, personally I wouldn't use anything other than the recommened Britparts coil, my Landy parts supplier has never seen any failures yet.

They do seem to be sensitive to the type of coil used and at this price!!!!!

Cobra v8 or any other overseas peeps I'm happy to post abroad for the extra cost.

I've ordered 6 units so put your name down for then now, first come first served.

Payment via pay-pal/cash/chq/bank transfer.

I'm gonna be at Newark next weekend so am happy to hand over in person.

Just a quick comment, I've ran one on my 1330 with a sports coils for for something between 2 and 3 years, using BP7ES plugs, no problems. Basically swapped the points for the kit and that's all I did.

Only thing I would suggest, however, if you're talking directly to britpart, is to get two rotors in the kit. If you bust the rotor you're stuffed and will need to buy a complete kit for a replacement.

Here's where I got mine from...

http://www.mm-4x4.co...-kit-2721-p.asp

What's the coil which is being supplied ?

I'll have a look in a mo, got the kit in the car.

I'll get some pics up as well.

I'm just a little nervous about the type of coil used, minis have been fitted with various types over the years and this seems to screw up the units, the land rover boys don't have any probs with them at all.

The coil won't suffer but it could overload the electronic module or wiring if it doesn't have enough impedance. If you've got the genuine Lanny coil measure its resistance.

The electronic module will fit all Lucas dizzies fitted to the Mini (except the electronic ones :) ), the difference will be the rotor arm, I think Britpart do kits for both.

Type 23 - wiring attaches to points with a small nut

Type 45, 59 - wiring clips to the points spring

Type 59 also has a peg for "blue heal" wiper points that might need removing.
