I need to protect the underbody of the car from rust. I know some of the steps to do this but I was wondering how would I do this.

1. Strip and sand the panel.
2. Use rust converter/killer on the remaining rust
3. Red oxide primer on the panel

I don't know what to do after this, Is this correct so far?

I have sanded, treated and primed the panel today. I just want to know what I have to do after this.

to be honest i wouldnt use the red oxide primer as i was once told it can clash with the paint and in a couple of months start cracking the paint...
as its only the bottom of the car and cant be seen i wouldnt worry to much about it...
next ya should put on a few layers of paint and once thats dry i would go with either Underseal or waxoil.
and that should do the job for a year or so and then top up again with underseal or waxoil.
