if you look at the ends there 2 tier, with usually a black piece of plastic on the connector.
so im guessing two separate wires, so many if each section is soldered correctly it should work ?

i have known phono's using twin cables within a braid, check that the twin cables are connected together or one of them may be connected to the braid.
twin cable + braid are normally used for balanced signal cables in PA use, not generally used in car audio.

check all wires for shorting
unplug the phono cables and see if it still kicks off
if it does
keep them unplugged and disconnect the speaker wires to the speaker
if it still does
run a new remote wire
then run a new earth
if it still does
run a new power cable
if it still does
its fooookd

sounds like the protection has kicked in.....
check all wires for shorting
unplug the phono cables and see if it still kicks off
if it does
keep them unplugged and disconnect the speaker wires to the speaker
if it still does
run a new remote wire
then run a new earth
if it still does
run a new power cable
if it still does
its fooookd
Have tried it without the phono cables connected and without the speaker wires but still 1 up to the sub

Will try what you've suggested tomorrow
cheers
