Hi, Im having trouble disconnect gear shift rod from the gear box. Apparently there's a pin which locks the rod to the gear box, how do i get the pin out? Can anyone help me with it, thanks :D)

oops, posted in the wrong place, sorry

Its pretty easy!!!!
Just find something thats a little smaller than the pin hole its self (Metal)
(Drill bit ) Or silmlar)

And hit hard a few times with a hammer and make sure its the pin thats closest to the gearbox it will take a bit of shifting if it hasnt been off for a while but you will get there :D

you need a 3/16" punch and a hammer. also put the car into reverse, this lets the pin come out without hitting the gearbox.

Any ideas on how to remove it if you have spent 4 hours hitting it, 3 drill bits broken, heated and oiled to death?

Its worth adding that there is a split along the side of the roll pin, so if you were to try and use a punch that as too small, or a nail, it would just push the sides of the roll pin outwards, thus causing it to clamp on the sides of the collar.

Its the same one i used on another engine to remove the split pin... Ive really come to my wits end with the bloody pin, neither of them will come out, not sure if previous owner has jammed them in.

The last time I was at my local motor store they had this stuff for removing stuck bolts and stuff. Instead of heating it up it freezes the part, causing it to contract which should free it up enough to remove it. I'll try and find out what its called?
