jayare : that first one reminds me of one of those olds skinny fiats. (Sorry dont know the name! )
I'd imagine it's the Fiat 126 you're thinking of. The bottom of the boot looks very similar on that mini even down to number plate placement.

it looks like the mini van doors have been smoothed to a standard mini rear end andthen cut in half. the best bit is the number plate! thats awsome!

there not mini van doors, there fibreglass mouldings if i remember right, auto bmc has started producing them as far as im aware, might av a go at makin mine into a hatchback/van stylie

How difficult is it to do a hatchback conversion?
Very. It would require serious design and fabrication and welding. Unless you're an experienced panelbeater, I wouldn't attempt it.

i have been inspired by the fra space frame mini i think this shouldnt be that hard really. famous last words. but i think i can do it its in my abillity so why not give it a go

how could i insure my mini if i converted it to a hatchback?

First thing I thought of when I saw it was a Fiat 500, but it's not really is it... Still, looked like it to me lol.
They do look really nice though, but I would imagine they're a lot harder to do than they look...
