Just wondered, how many people can recall that aroma,of duckhams 20/50, or even castrol, after a long run in your mini?same aroma comes from millers 20/50,beats nescafe by miles (many) That deep green colour, never to be matched.probably not a lot out there, but what have you missed?
Used to travel 24 mls to tynemouth (autosport) which was a total new set up in car parts, apart from halfords ,which dealt maily with bycycles at the time, happy days, gladly remembered, when cars were serviceable by their drivers, not like now! when the computer rules! totaly.

I remember CASTROL was made by wakefield motor oils,in west yorkshire! probably been badged now by shanghi automotive, and shipped in same can, same colours, diferrent product, probably like fairy liquid, without the bubbles!

Yeah, I remember it but I was always told to keep away from any oil that looked like Fairy liquid, but how about the smell of burning Castrol R40? definitely the best smell in the world!

Duckams 20-50, great stuff, was £1. 0s. 6d. (102.5p) per gallon when I stated using it the 1960s in my first car which was a 1935 Morris 8 tourer. It was indeed a good smell, thanks for the reminder. Found this on Google...

There is a large panel in the "can" that opens!
It could be a Mini in there, it has a Mini grill!

Castrol R usually does a very low mileage, i prefer duckhams.
Out of curiosity..Duckhams oils isnt property of Castrol? Or am i wrong?

Don`t know who owns it now,but registered address is in Milton keynes, seem to think Duckhams and Castrol may be part of BP group, but not 100% sure

Morris lubricants do a good Magnol 20w-50 oil for classics, I have been using that for some years now.

Magnol 20w-50 click for details

They seem to only list these drums on their web site but if it's a good price maybe it's worthwhile? Perhaps you can still get smaller quantities from their agents?

Or they do this one in their Golden Film range Oil

I've heard that 20w 50 is gonna be discontinued about three times in the last years, but duckhams still there..
Anyway, gonna place a massive order then stock it, cause personally im stuck with certain products..

Duckhams is already out of production, we only have a handful left, now going over to the Classic Castrol 20W50 instead
