after seeing the convertion they do in america i have got my hands on a honda cr-v awd gearbox prop, rear diff and rear shafts

one good thing is the gearbox is cable not rods so makes easier to mount lever where ever i want to

now all i need to decide is do i use my neon or do i get a bare shell and start from scratch

pics of bits i got to day for a really silly price :)

the gearbox bolts straight to the b16 engine

heres the american convertion but no way can afford that unless i win lottery http://www.superfast...AWD_CRV_KIT.htm

so going to have a go at making it all myself but using trailing arms not double wish bone

Sounds really good. You may find that you have to use 14" wheels, the CR-V runs on 16" with 60 aspect tyres, so you may find the gearing even lower than the guys who use the Civic/Accord lumps.

wont be the end of the world if i have to run 14" wheels been done enought times before

the diff only sends power to the rear wheels when the fronts starts to lose grip !!

I doubt you would really be forced to run 13 inch wheels.

Front end would be like any 16 valve conversion in terms of drive shafts.

zcars would seem to be the people to speak to about the back.

Im not aware of z-cars producing anything like this. So i dont see what they would be able to offer? As they tend do deal with rear engined frames. The only company that does it is minitec and as mentioned the kit is hugely expensive.

no updates only got the gear box 3 days ago ,and am in the middle of moving house

sam sorry parts of your post does not make sence no one said would be forced to run 13"

am aware that the front end will be the same as any other 16v v'tec convertion thats the how point of doint it but with power to rear as well

if you mean talk to z cars about the rear arms going to have a go at making my own alredy have a few ideas how will do them

Hi mate great idea and i will love to see this done. i cant see wheel sizes being a issue too much but the only thing is, its a lot of work to do just to run std B engine power on as the lost of power through the gear box will be a lot and the extra wight unless you build some think turbo on it.
