i was issued a ticket today, my mini broke down, (more like ran out of juice!) and whist i was away getting help in the form of a jerry can i was issued a ticket! I was parked in a small road/alleyway with single yellow lines, but i wasnt even on the lines i was on a bit of paving behind the line away from the road. about 4 foot away from it! (not footpath, it was road level.)

The ticket says "parked in an unauthorised street during hours" or something to that effect. Should i appeal??

My car was "incapacitated" That sooo counts! my feul sender unit is broken and i misjudged, its not like i was blocking the road or in the way of anything, well unless you count a brick wall and some trees!

The ticket issuer was not to know you had ran out of petrol so would have assumed it was parked and left I'm guessing. Might be worth a punt at challenge...nothing to lose!
Lesson learned?...always carry a can of juice if you've got a dodgy sender!!

Depends on how nice your local council are...
Ive had 1 issued in my area where i had valid reason, but my council still pressed to make me pay whereas i was in brighton and got a ticket with the same reason and they were very helpful >_<

no harm in trying :D

Ok, it's illegal to enter the motorway with insufficient fuel then.

Am I the only one who goes through "the checks" before I go on the motorway? Clutch, seems ok, fuel, plenty, oil light, not on, temperature, ok, brakes, work, no new funny noises, ok, lights on, ok? All before the sliproad so I can stop if necessary!
