just looking up the numbers of a 1275 engine i just bought, its 12H706AAZ032199, which is listed as a 1275GT byt the 12H706 but what is the AAZ032199 refer too, if anything?

The first part of the engine number is the build code for the engine that tells you all about how it was built and what parts it contains, as you have found. The last part is the serial number of the engine.

thought so, just wanted to double check as the 706 bit isnt listed on the guessworks tool
