Volume of a cylinder is Pi*radius^2*height
In the context of an engine, this is Pi*(bore/2)^2*stroke.
This gives the volume of one cylinder. So times it by 4 to get the formula for the total cc: Pi*bore^2*stroke

Remember to work in centimetres (cc = cubic centimetres), or convert at the end, and you can't go far wrong.

e.g. Standard 998 has a 2.54" bore, and a 3" stroke.
If you're overboring by +40 thous (i.e. 0.04) then the bore will be 2.58". The new total cylinder volume will be pi*2.58*2.58*3 = 62.7 cubic inches.

1" is 2.54 cm so one cubic inch is 2.54 cm x 2.54 cm x 2.54 cm = 16.39 cubic centimetres

Times the answer of 62.7 by this to get the total cc: in this case = 1028 cc.
