Hi guys, i just got this tow bar for my mini mayfair 1985 and wondering how the hell i fit it. ive put on a pic of thw bar and the under side of me car. any help would be great cheers dan

Easiest would be offer it up to the car get the ball in roughly the right position and see where the brackets sit. 99% certain you will need to drill holes to suit the brackets.

i did try that but the brackets and the holes dont seem to match up anywhere with my sub-frame and i dont want to attach it to the boot floor as thats not a good idea

There won't be any standard holes, you have to drill them.

Its a different design than the one I made, but looking at it I'd say the 2 holes in the long struts near the ball bolt to the subframe and the cross plate near the ball probably bolts to the valance.
Its hard really tell, but if the crossplate bolted to the subframe it looks like the ball would be under the rear bumper.

ok, well just to check thats its ok to drill into the subframe because i dont want to be doing something silly

Looks like you have 7 fixing points on that one - the three in the rear-most crossmember to the rear seam/bumper lip with small bolts, 2 larger ones a bit further forward into the rear crossmember of the subframe and then 2 near the 'point' into the boot floor.
