Just thumbing this months PC mag and theres a "barn find" article - which got me thinking, with dwindling supplies of minis in the ever decreasing number of scrappies in our green & pleasant land coupled with want ads popping up all over the place the only remaining sources of obtaining a car would seem to be either fleabay or classifieds - all 3 of my minis have been acquired by either knowing a friend of a friend who has a mini in the garage they want rid of, or by spotting a familiar shape under a tired tarp or through an open garage door and getting cheeky - door knocking. The right attitude and a few quid often yeilds spectaular (and cheap) results - to illustate mine:

Mini equinox - all complete - major MOT fail £300 - back of a local garage
80 Mini city - rust free 50K from new £200 - friend of a friend
Mini Picaddily - fully resprayed Aston Maroon, loaded with "s" parts, spax's , hilo's, a 1380, corbeau seats, genuine minilites £100 - work colleague

so to my point - theres hundreds of us on the forum who must know the wherabouts of loads of suitable resto projects / parts donors is anyone prapared to air to the wider world where these are?

Here's one for starters:

Nailsea (near Bristol) - spied in poor condition but intact a late 70's clubby estate - back of a drive and looks a very long term resident, No contact made with owner so may not be open to discussing its future (or lack of) - but if anyone wants to have a go PM me and I'll tell you where it is......

(I'm not mentioning a 3k from new MG Metro though - am playing the long game to get that one myself.....)

Mudford near Yeovil there is a drive with a handful of minis in various states. Is that somebody here? Seems like a collector but never had time to stop and look/ask.

Ooo I live in Nailsea! Where abouts is it :) And don't look at my drive at the mo, got 1 under a cover and one behind it :D! And no the Pickup isn't left out on the drive, that's tucked away in a hidden place atm! (Not my garage, so if you're thinking of trying to find it, don't bother looking there ;) :))

If anyone fancies a rescue mission?? About six weeks ago there was a mini sat in a field/end of a track behind a car parking layby bit next to the Druid's Arms in Stanton Drew (near Bristol). I doubt very much it's gone anywhere, it looked a bbit abandoned and unloved just sat in the grass going rustier and rustier :D

I've no idea who it belongs to but maybe if you went during pub opening hours the owners might know?

I agree :D This is similar to the "rescue me" section of Mini Mag. This thread should be stickied
