Hi all.
my question is, how the station wagons are called.
Am I right when I say, all CLubman are Estates, the Mini station wagons called traveller????
Or is there any other name for the cars with the large back and the round front???

Just for interest, so I hope anyony can help me.

Thank you for support,
Bobo

not all clubmans are estates! there are saloons!

however there have been 3 different names for the estates!

1) Traveller
2) Countryman
3) Estate (tended to be used for the clubman model)

a clubman estate is a flat fronted mini estate with no wood framework

a mini traveller is a round nosed mini estate with Ash wood framework on the rear half

all clubmans are not estates. they are all mini's with a flat nose

hope this clears things up :cheese:

Thank you guys,

of course I know what a Clubman is, also that there are CLubman saloon and estate.

Are you sure, that all Mini station wagon called traveller has got the wood???

A friend told me, that its in view of the manifactury.
Morris traveller, Austin countryman.

Are there original travellers without wood, he told me he saw in a original commercial flyer!!!

Any more ideas???

Now I read what I wrote:

"Am I right when I say, all CLubman are Estates,..."

It should have been :

Am I right when I say, all CLubman station wagon are Estates,...

Bobo,

As you stated (and was in my post) the two names "traveller" and "countryman" were both the same model just by different manufacturers! One was Austin and the other was morris!

As far as I can remember the estates usually came with the wood panelling but that's not to say that they didn't do them without the panels! The early Clubman Estates had that bloody horrible fake wood srip down the side which was replaced later on by some stuck on coachlines

I think we both got a bit confused by your first post regarding the Clubman estate!

my dad had a mini van in 1976 and converted it to an estate with windows and rear seats, so this would be an estate without the wood, could mislead people a bit

minimadjonsey you're cracking me up     what time did you get up? i only popped to have quick browse and people are chatting away at 7am, hardcore mini bunch huh
