Sometime after christmas now im looking to respray my car. Its British Racing Green with a white roof at the moment and I want it Surf Blue with a gloss black roof. My boyfriend (with a little help from me!) will fully prep the car. The inside, engine bay and inside boot we will do ourselves. I dont want to go to a proper body shop and get ripped off so is there anyone who is professional/semi professional or just really good at spraying that could help me?! And how much would you charge? As i said I am in the West Midlands area but dont mind driving up to somewhere and staying while its done (just an excuse to get away if you ask me!)
Cheers guys :D

Do it with rattle cans, you can get a good finish if you have some idea how to spray, the good thing about minis you can do it in stages because its got seams.
Do you still need a patch welding in the boot.

Tell ben from me if he needs a hand with it i will help him as i sprayed my car and properly have more of an idea than him lol, now i no mine isnt perfect but
its good enough for me, you would be looking at 1000-1500 for a professinal sprayjob by a bodyshop, im sure me and ben could do a good job not perfect but good.
you will need an old exhaust backbox to cut up and weld the cherrybomb up to get the right angle.

have a go yourself, if you go access to the equiptment, all u gotta do is use cellulose paint, n put plenty of coats on, that way u can cut back the paint and polish it up! will come out great! just make sure you prep properly, inside and out

If you do go the celly route, make sure you use bar-coat or another type of sealer first. Save a lot of hassle when the paint reacts.

Apart from that, if you haven't got the money to pay a pro then as lews says, give it a go.

If you accept Cookies help then you've got a good headstart on the job.

If all else fails then its elbow grease and flatting back/polishing!!

Good Look :D

i booked my test the night before
so you can get lucky with cancellations :D
my advice is dont do it with rattle spray cans
looks ok in photos and from a distance
but nothing to polish
spray guns are sort of cheap anyway and if your doing the prep may aswell go for the monty :) :)

You sprayed yours yourself? Ahhh you cant tell it looks well good. Yeah would be great if you could give us a hand when we finally come to do it. Wont be for a while yet. Bens done an ok job of respraying parts of his but its diff with a whole car but yours looks good, so thats good enough for me!
As for the cherry bomb, if i get everything i need would you be able to do the welding for me? Ben was gonna fit it but then we found out that it cant just fit on and needs welding lol, unfortunately a welder is probably the only thing that Ben hasnt bought yet! Haha.
