Hello my name is Adam crockett and i am rebuilding a 1989 Rover mini City 1000.
ok so i havent really got a lot of photos of the previous work of the car but lets start with the picture of my car when i got it moved from westonsupermere

the pics have already been posted on a previous thred on my introduction to the forum. but im not new anymore. i just havent got around to posting my project propperly.

ok so heres Dave (my car) before i had him moved to my workshop

Its bad isnt it.... but i think i have seen worse.
At the time i didnt know anything about cars and felt very nervious about taking it on.

After the subframe was removed derusted, rewelded and put back on.

Cleeaned and sprayed cover :D and also cleaned off the block turned out to be yellow not black as i had first suspected.

I also sanded and primed the front end. fitted a K&N cone filter. and fitted a new stearing wheel. oh and revamped my alloys.

Will post a few pics tommorow but thease are the alloys

Now in hammerite smooth black with a nice blue rim :thumbsup:

Credits to my best friend and fellow mini owner alex and his feoncee for helping me cleen under the hood. my girlfriend for looking board (My girlfriend just read this and decided to say: ''Actually no, I cleaned the whole of the interior and cleaned the windows. And i wasn't looking board, It was FREEZING cold outside, thanks very much!''), and my friends dad for the welding and spare time given. oh and you guys thanks for all the help ;)

long way to go.

sprayed it myself, its quite funny really but you will need to find my bodge jobs thread to see why? and how much it costs

That looks really smart. I don't think black should be too shiny. Certainly shows progress.

thank you :) its to do with the hamerite I painted it with costs 30 quid its quite a dull shine. its been slow progress but its now getting a lot faster :-

forgot to update new pics from today

rover coupe seats being prepared to modify for fitting. note: rear seats need to be cut down but will fit eventually.

once the seats are fitted they will be unbolted and removed, then i will weld up a few small holes and hamerite the floor. fit the underlay and carpet set and finally seats back in position.

new steering wheel, blue dash rail re trimmed by me :D

alloys now in black, with yellow drums, painting the front next week. tyres need replacing.

nice estate big guns! i really want one myself. i think its my next project :) of course dave will always be my favorite.

ps if anyone has any black headlight rims spare im interested.

plan to fit mark 1 rear lights next week cant wait!

Isn't it amazing how when one project nears completion you begin to think about the next one? I had "almost" finished a Triumph Stag when I bought the Clubby Estate. I'm no where near done with it but I've got a 1964 Mk1 Cortina sat on my drive waiting it's turn!! Think I'll be keeping the Clubby though. At least for a couple of months to enjoy it. By the time it's done it will stand me at around £4,000 and it's really not worth selling for what it will loose.
Anyway, I love your enthusiasm and keep at it.

small update:
new MOTable tyres fitted, very cheep but will do the job.

Entire car resprayed with black hammerite. until i get around to stripping it and getting my cellulose paints. (now i have a more powerfull air compressor.

I am going to get outside help from a very reputable welder. bit of a celebrity in the welding world :shifty: hes going to find the wholes in the car and sort out the sills im doing the doors and boot myself

i was in the workshop today and made a rooke style dash for free. the technician at my uni had 9mm mdf offcuts :shifty:

the headlight rims are grey not green like advertised. i suspect they actually are mini designer rims. so thats good
