Hello,

Well ive seen a few minis about and have found one that we're considering buying. Unfortunatly its a rolling shell but has T and T, but since it doesnt have an engine it obviously cant be driven home.

What is the best way to get it home? its 100 miles away, Really we need to hire out a small flatbed or tow truck for the day but then what would happen with insurance and the likes? is it normally covered in the price and how much will it be roughly?

Thanks >_<

Hiring flatbeds for the day and stuff is expensive! even paying someone with one is expensive unless you know them!

Your best bet is to find someone local to its location and ask them nicely! Seems like you've got an offer already though!

Luckily, I've never had to hire one, as the company i work for has two recovery trucks.. >_<

There are companys that will collect cars and deliver them for you but i think thats around £300..

I've just read a guide for towing A frames on ebay:

http://reviews.ebay....000000009148711

It seems they can only be used for recovering a broken down vehicle with full MOT, Road Tax and Insurance!

No I am not 100% sure if this is true but if you are concidering using a A frame for a non MOTed mini I would look into it more!

You are absolutly right, legally a car that has no MOT and tax can not be on the road even towing , it must be moved on a trailer or flat bed. Unless it is booked for an MOT and it is being transported to the MOT station (no more that 25 miles).
