Have tried to upload a new avatar, it says it has uploaded, but when I post i still have my old avatar

Are you totally sure you have changed your Avatar and not you personal picture? If it is the Avatar, is it within the size limits imposed?
If thats all good, try doing a forced refresh of your page by pressing CTRL + F5.

Yes it was the avatar, not personal picture.
