hello!
when i was at castle combe i aquired 5 10x6 weller steels from the auto jumble! (cheers simon)
im gunna refurb them myself to put on my mini when it is all done up sometime next year. im thinking of painting them black but could change... anyway i thought i would tell everyone what i am doing,
1. strip paint of!
2. get them sandblasted in bcots sandblaster by my new best friend who is allowed to use it.
3. get the rims refurbed.
4. paint and stuff

im not sure if the pictures are working on here as im a technophobe but will get some up! but all wheels are in reasonable condition with some surface rust that is easily sorted.
i just went to look at them i realised i have got 3 10x6s and 2 10x5s......... :- which can be seen in one of the pics. ah well haha but im thinking the 5s on the front and 6s on the back??? then can get 1 more 6" and that means 2 spare wheels for a matching trailer >_< but in the meen time i will look for another 6" weller.

"you do know a mini is front wheel drive don't you ?"
what if my minis bin made to have rear wheel drive... well it hasnt sadly:(

yea yea i did just realise that, whilst i was writing i was thinking of my mate telling me about a vw he saw with massive on the back and slightly less massive wheels on the front, so wasnt paying too much attention. but yea you guys are right the wider ones should go on the front. but im probly going to try and find another 10x6 cus it will bug me them being different widths.

Ben you never said you had a friend that could do sand blasting. Does he/she want to do my alloys lol. They will look mint when done. Specially with all the other plans you have for your mini. I think having wider wheels on the front of a car would look stupid. Putting the wider ones on the back would look better no matter if its front or real wheel drive.
