Hey, I want to wire a toggle way switch so that is operated like this::
This is for wiring a tacho by the way

Pos 1 - Just live to tacho
Pos 2 - off
pos 3 - Tacho live + lights

Is this possible do you think guys?
Anyone have a wiring diagram?

Also what's the redline on a 998cc mini from 1985 with a stage one kit you think?

Cheers folks!

no idea on the wiring, but the redline will depend on what cam you have, if its a standard cam, 5000-5500 i think

The redline has little to do with the cam. The redline of an engine is its physical limit of being able to keep up with itself without something breaking rather than anything to do with performance. The limit depends on how fast the valves can close, how much mass is in the valve train and how fast it can shuttle up and down, how tough the gudgeon pins are and how much abuse all this stuff can take before something bends, breaks or jams. Every component has a limit.

Yes you can wire that quite easily, you'll probably need to use a diode. What lights are you talking about? The internal lighting in the tacho? Wouldn't it be more sensible to have them switched with the other dash lighting? Why do you want to be able to turn the tacho off?

it should be ok to wire it that way, just make sure you get a double pole, double throw (DPDT) on-off-on type switch, just to keep the tacho and light wires separate.
