They share the same wiring downstream of the hazard switch. rusty contacts on the flasher under the bonnet seems most likely. How's the interior light - it shares the same fusebox supply.

I ve never had an interior light. Which fuse is it? The fuse box is a month old and fuses are quite new, along with all the flashers units and switches. how ever the rusty contacts under the bonnet like you suggested may be the problem so id try that and let you know.

It could be the hazard switch or the flasher itself. You could also trace the wiring back to the fuse, it should be the same colour wire and you'll know you've got the right one if the hazards stop when you pull it.

Just bridge the flasher socket contacts with a bit of wire/paperclip - the bulbs should light brightly but not flash if it is a faulty flasher unit.

the flasher is new. hazard is new. id give it a go tho/ does it matter which way the flasher is plugged in?

It should only be possible to plug in 1 way round. It is a hazard flasher?

you could have a bad hazars switch giving a very high resistance when switched on, hence, dim bulbs, try a different switch too

check the connections inside the fuse case, these can easily corrode and cause bad connections,
