Model: Rover Mini Cooper
Year:2000
Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible): I live in Finland and need pretty soon winter tires to my Mini. My (preferred) tire size is 145/70R12. I know Yokohama and Hankook make non-studdable winter tires, but are there others? I would actually prefer studdable winter tires but have found none.

PS: Where to get 12x4.5 rims for these? Steel or aluminium.

Appreciate all hints you can give. Edvard

I'm afraid I can't help with the winter tyres - we only get about 2" of snow which lasts a couple of days and grinds the whole country to a halt :D

The standard steel wheels are 4.5x12 as are the Rover Minilight style alloys - I guess the best bet would probably be eBay or forum classifieds for either type,

You might find that 'Maxsport Tyres' do one for your car. Do a search of their website for size and application. I have some Maxsport 'knobbly' tyres on my Rover rally car, but they are 175/65x14. They may well do that pattern in a 12". Bear in mind that if you go to 165 x 12 you can't have a profile greater than 60 or the tyre will hit the front inner wheel arch on full lock and possibly the rear radius arm.
