I was just thinking about minis in crashes, in my opinion i don't think they would be very strong.
Has anybody on here been in a crash with a mini? If so can you upload a photo of the damage.
Would just like to see how safe they really are.

So i had this little incident. Car hit me head on in an intersection maybe at about 70 or 80km/h. My pickup flew about 15m through the air and ended up on a traffic island.
I had no safetybelts as the car never came out with them and nobody ever bothered fitting any. I removed the windshiled with my forehead and ended up failing the whole year at university. The triangular side window(mkII?) was not shatterproof and broke into shards that ended up in my passenger's arm. He spent a week in hospital.
The big problem here is that there is very little bodywork to absorb the impact. As you can see the roof got bent as a result of the impact. The engine pushed into the cabin by about 30cm but survived. Not so the atlenator, radiator, distributor and other accessories.
So would I ever want to be in a crash in a mini again? Not a chance!
I also included a pic of how the same pickup looks currently. Took me 8years to get to this point. It's such a shame writing off a car as special as this

For a car designed in the 50s, I like to think they hold up remarkably well. Of course they're never going to come close to the safety that new cars provide today, but people who equate minis with death traps annoy me quite a bit. A death trap would be a combustible MINI

man thats bad!
I hit a tree at 60mph once with a full car. The tree fell over and we went up it like a ramp sending us over a fence into a field full of small trees. My mate that was in front passenger seat could have got his head taken of by a branch that almost came throw the windscreen; he was asleep so he couldn’t complain at the time.
I had to wake him up after, all I got from him was “what have you done WHAT…. HAVE… YOU…. DONE…!" my first mini smashed up, the front had folded up and the front wheels had come off, luckily no one was hurt. I learnt my lesson that day.
