Hi,
Doesnt it seem like every other week there is a strange sqeak, rattle or knocking noise!!
Well this week, its a click when i re-engage the accelarator after changing gear. just as i accelarate.
It feels like the sound is coming from the driver side nearer the middle of the car.
it tends not to happen always especially the higher the gear!
Its got me confused - mabe teh engine steady bushes?
The car is a 96 spi sports pack (Special edition silver bullet) with only 30,000 miles!
Cheers
Craig

as you mention it happens when you apply the throttle, i'd say its pretty certain its the top engine steady bushes. You can check by opening the bonnet, holding onto the rocker cover (the cover bolted to the top of the engine) and push and pull on it, if it moves, you need new bushes.

The strange thing is that, being a later model, it should have the later one piece type bushes, which last much longer.
Anyway its always worth upgrading the old design rubbers with the later type.
