Turbo clutches are harder wearing and can handle more power. You would be better buying a fast road clutch kit, just the same.

Is it verto or pre-verto?

Paul.

There weren't any rally/race clutches available for the Verto clutch when it first came out so the best was the one for the Metro turbo. It's just got uprated pressure and friction plates.

I've got a turbo clutch plate for my engine, haven't tried it out yet as i'm still rebuilding the whole thing. Picked it up from MiniMail (I think) for about £18.

As for a turbo clutch kit, I've no idea.

'Turbo' clutch kit, is a Verto clutch. It has the strongest production spring and used a 180mm un sprung friction plate. It will hold 100lbft of torque quite happily and perhaps 110-120lbft if you change the friction plate for an AP racing one.

Vmaxscart recon there is another stronger still Verto spring

Now that the RTS Verto clutches have been proven, there are now other options for the high powered engines with a verto clutch, other than the ancient pre Verto clutch, its day has come

Its just that my mechanic said he has one sitting around and could fit it to my car when my engine work happens. Its only because I was asking him about clutch mods. I have a L/B flywheel going in. The clutch is fairly new as well. I was thinking of an orange diaphragm or lightened backplate but he dismissed them saying I can spend my money better somewhere else.

The clutch will have to match the flywheel you use. either verto or pre verto.

I had a turbo clutch kit in my 1293 with the flywheel you are fitting to your engine danuneek. That took 90hp without any slipping issues at all. Also had 5 launches at MITP and various launches from traffic lights etc :D without any issues.

What clutch would people recomend for my engine please? Its got to be verto, as I bought an ultralight fly. Its 1293 turbo hoping for 140 - 150hp?

Thanks,

Sorry for the thread hi-jack
