Hi.

Start'ed to think what engine should I get to my Mini? One litre aint enuf. Theres some restrictions to choose engine, those are under 90hp and 1500cc originally (it´s the law).
Theres the Original 1275 engine. What are the pros and cons on that?
Then theres a pighole in law, you "can" make your own engine just taking bottom and top from different engines, like Toyota 4 age cylider head and 1500cc bottom end. Just need to take it to pro's rolling road to prove there's no more horses than 90.
So, any ideas? Original 1275 sounds easiest... Whit harder cam, 2xSU, headers?

i think on a 1275 with stage II head +manifold and 266° to 286° cam you could use a double hs4 or single hs6 with 1-1.5 roller rockers you should be in the region that you want to hit

The law here limits tuning. As Im "allowed to tune" my engine 20% more powerful and 25% bigger cc than most powerful/largest engine there has been build by factory (no, cant use ERA turbo as reference, but some reason ERA set is legal here).
So we endup orig. 75hp Cooper to 90hp and 1300cc to about 1500cc.
90hp must on wheels and "only in test for rolling road" to get paper to show in MOT. After that its possible to get some "extra ponies" free.

This sounds like daily drive engine, as Im not looking drag racer. What kinda money Im looking for this kinda set?

Started to think about selling my 1.0 and buying 1.3 Cooper instead, might be cheaper in long run.
