ive got a 88 city and i want a mk1 front with the mustache grill but unsure what it will look like with the rear lights? it will be a flipfront so will the front mk1 panel and wings fit the same as a mk3/4? and how hard is it to change the hinges to mk1 style ones?

The only real difference between a MK1 front valance and a MK2 on is the shape under the bumper...

All you need do is remove your grill and the lip of the bonnet and then you can attach a MK1 grill and moustache...

the front will look fine, if you want a bit of continutity then fit mk2 rear lights, they fit in teh same hole as your exisiting lights but do not have a reversing light!

As for the hinges, don't bother! I am fitting a mk1 grill, bonnet, bootlid and numberplate holder to make mine a little more retro! that should be enough really!

I have done the grille conversion and I am pleased with the way it looks see here I am gonna get a GRP MKI bootskin, but as MMJ has said, to try and replicate the door hinges may be a headache that aint worth the effort.
