Your odds are not good. Out of roughly 5,500,000 Minis produced in the main factories, one special edition of a couple of thousand cars had painted headlamp rims. That was it, all the rest are chrome. The Mini Designer was a batch of cars that rusted very quickly and most of them are no longer of this earth. Those people who do own one one now put a premium on their lamp rims and other unique parts. Off hand I can't think of any other cars that have them either. Chrome platers strip chrome, try to find one locally.

mine stiil survives :( but im in need of ONE headlight ring
so you guys are not the only ones :)

how much did this cost, i have the headlight rims now in steal but i was thinking about getting a grill surround either made in fibreglass (do it myself) or get it powder coated (professionally)

i prefer black to chrome these days as i think it gives the car more of a motorsport/agressive look personally.

i recon an all black mini would look great. i still need to get some new wing mirrors and have them done black.

id recconmend powdercoating to spray painting though as its a hell of a lot tougher, one stone chip and it'l ruin the affect if everythings black apart from one little chrome chip if you get me.

speak to these guys, they got all the powder coating done for me they might have some bits in stock aswell, i couldnt tell you how much it'd cost though as i have loads of stuff done under the bonnet and bits of interior done too.

Some people really like to overthink things. Sand them and paint them black. If they get scratched up, do it again. Jeezus, it's a 15 minute job, not like you're refinishing a battleship.

He must be really overthinking it if it hasn’t been resolved in the last 13 years

You can start with the inner bezel using these.
