Car starts fine, then dies after a few seconds. Does this 3 or 4 times then is fine. car has been sat for a few weeks but has been run. is it just damp?? I know the engine needs some fettling but i can see this little problem getting annoying.

Does it still 'die' if you catch it and hold the revs up with the throttle? Is it just choking itself with too much 'choke' and not enough revs ?

still dies even with throttle input, starts then dies after a couple of seconds a few times then all is good

Sounds like fuel supply problem

Check there are no kinks in the fuel line, mine had issues with fueling and would almost cut out, might also be worth putting some fresh petrol in there What needle are you running with the 'stage 1' kit?

sorry so long to reply. Not sure what needle. To add, once car is running it is fine. once warm it will start fine upto an hour or so after running first time with no problem amount of choke or accelerator has no effect just runs for a few secs then slowly dies.

This is a long shot but how old are the HT leads?
