Correct Needle

I have months to log in here but i was very busy with the mini and the army..
anyway, here is my problem.. I have a 1275 Metro engine (not the MG) with the minisport stage 1 (exhaust & K&N).
My carb is HIF44 and i have the AAV needle. I know it is the wrong one because it is not working ok and cannot setup it. Which is the correct needle to buy? Is BDK or BDL? or something else?
Also, does the spring make any difference?
Thanks
Jack

Minispares stages one for the 1275 comes with the BBW
BDK is a richer needle at top end.
BDL is weaker than the BBW

The AA needle wont work because thats for a smaller carb HIF38 or HS4.
Minispares stages one for the 1275 comes with the BBW
BDK is a richer needle at top end.
BDL is weaker than the BBW
BBW will work for both 1.75 & 1.5 carbs on 1275?

No BBW is for the 1.75" carb
I tried one BDL in my HIF44 and the engine did not even start (but the needle was damaged, not very straight)
With the AAV inside, the car started, just didnt work ok
Is that normal?

the 1.5" carb as a jet size of 0.090" the 1.75" is 0.10"
basically if you put a AAV needle in the 0.10" jet you will have a very rich bottom end which will probably become to weak at top end looking at the profile
so yes you could get the AAV to start probably needs bugger all choke.

the bent needle will probably mean the needle was sticking in the jet.
the 1.5" carb as a jet size of 0.090" the 1.75" is 0.10"
basically if you put a AAV needle in the 0.10" jet you will have a very rich bottom end which will probably become to weak at top end looking at the profile

Basically with the AAV, the car smell gas when you hit the pedal and do not always response quickly, and when at low RPM( for example when you stop at lights) for some second, it stops.
