Hi,

I've been lurking around here for a while and have done lots of reading in the archives, great forum thumbs up!!!!

My project is turning a 89 998cc mini city into 1.4 honda civic(89) powered mini, for a daily run around for the wife.

I have some wide arches which i will need 6 inch wheels to fill them. My main concerns are she will dislike the heavy steering at slow speeds. I can either fit smaller arches and smaller wheels or fit power steering! Guess what the engine i'm fitting has a power steering pump attached and the doner car has a power steering rack. So, has any one fitted a power steering rack from a 89 honda civic. Main issue i can for see are mounts, uj to mini upper steering columb and track length and rod ends. Mounts i could probably fabricate from the honda ones and the track can be shortened by chopping the length down. Would it be best to try and get a die and re-cut a thread on the end for the mini track rod ends or get the end of the mini rack welded on?

Also i have removed the wiring loom for inspection and cleaning, does any one have a drawing of the the loom and all the connections so i can check with mine and repair it if required, i can't get on with the haynes manual ones there pretty pants!! something with wire lengths and colours written on would be ideal.

Cheers

Karl

here might be ale to help on the honda engine front.

It might be easier o fit a K-series rover engine if you asre just after a useale no a series mini.

Cant be of much more help but good luck.

Cheers
