Cheers, minicity!

Nice one, did you swap the rear window too?

Yup. I wanted to get rid of the heated screen lines on the standard screen (plus save some weight).

Wrenched out the steering column and master cylinders earlier.

Suprisingly, the master cylinders came out really easily. Same can't be said for the bloody steering column pinch bolt!!!!! I think the previous owner wedged it in somehow. Took me best part of an hour and a half to get it out!!!!! The drift I made for the gear linkage roll pin came in dead handy tho!

Thanks Rick!

Looks like Rims are fitted 'beside' 8,4" calipers..do they have a massive offset or you just used massive spacers? Hows the handling with those wheels?

Not quite, the brakes are 7.9 alloy 4 pots. I had to use clip on wheel weights as the stick on ones fouled the caliper! no spacers

Despite being on standard suspension, it sticks like s**t to a blanket. The steering is suprisingly light as well, i'm running 28 psi front and back. But I guess the 998 hasn't really got enough minerals to really test the handling at speed.

Urm... could say that Owen ;D :geek: "Owen... Put your foot down...!!", "Dan, I am. I'm flat out." "Oh... urm yeah woohoo, 30mph FTW!!"

Had an itchy pair of hands last night so we did this... (big cheers to Kris and George)

:P Cheers for the plug :D

And get the heater on, it's looking very cold in that picture. Owen... I'm cold. I'm cold Owen...

Dan :dontgetit:

P.S. Who took the pictures of your car in that photoshoot thing? They look mint! Might have to employ them when the P'ups done!

The inlet ports aren't very modified (maybe to retain the locating rings for the carbs???), but the throats inside the head by the valve are big! The exhaust ports are mega tho!

36x30 valves, double springs the usual. It's at 24cc chambers, but will be getting it skimmed down to about 21cc.

Cheers man, the arches are "group 7"s, got them from huddersfield spares. Just like group 2 wides but without the lip.

Got some more bits to fit...

Oil cooler
Stage 2 LCB
Lumenition leccy ignition kit

Just waiting till pay day so I can get all the gaskets and seals.

You sure you got enough space putting those under mini specials? I looked into that ford feista brake conversion to fit under 10"s but mini specials, mamba's and steels will not go over them along with most 7.9's. I may be wrong though was just some info i found on another forum.

You've probably already checked i hope!

Sweet looking mini, love all the little black touches to it.

Cheers, I still have to make the cover, it didn't come with one. Hopefully all the belt drive kits use the same belt as I want to change it before it goes back in!

Cheers dude,

I actually haven't checked, but cheers for the heads up. I will chuck a rim on tomorrow. If worst comes to worst, i'll have to swap to some S brakes i've got.

Thanks dude! it means a lot! All the work/money going into her etc. Still a long way to go but am hoping to have it all ready for IMM next year!

Had a worry with regards to a few posts above, about the mini special wheels not fitting over the 7.9's...EEK!

Best way to find out...

Posted Image

Spun it round a few times then took it off and checked the back for rubbing/scraping marks...Looks all clear!!!!

Posted Image

ALTHOUGH...I will NEED to use clip on weights as there's even less room between the caliper and wheel as there is with the force racing rims!!! Probably just over 1mm between the caliper and the wheel with the specials!

Also trial fitting the rad (will be getting a new rad as one in picture is a bit tommy tucked)

Got the front subframe out and almost stripped. Gonna put it in my jig tomorrow to see how bent it is, and if it's good I will send it for powder coating.

What ignition are you running with that rad? is it with a distributor in place, or are you going for the mapped route.

Also what the rad from, metro?
