Sorry you haven't got an answer in time. I chose my replacement speedo cable by more or less shutting my eyes and using a pin. I had three wrong ones which I was assured by the suppliers were the *right* ones before I got one that fitted at both ends, even though it's for a different model (it's too long). So you see why I haven't said anything until now, but don't want you to feel ignored :withstupid:

It should be GSD102, for Clubman and late Mini, 33" long. You can measure the length of the one you remove before you order. Not that I want to interrupt your good work here but you do realise the speedo has nothing to do with the MOT don't you? You must get it working because obviously it's legally required but if you are worried about the MOT because you missed the deadline for ordering this you can relax, it's not on the test.

Great thank you :]
How come its the clubman one? why do they not state that it can also be used for the 998 pre 1990? Seams a bit stupid.
Well there are loads oif things that my car could fail on. so just trying to get it all tiptop :]

It is a bit daft that their not labeled clearer but there you go. There referred to as clubman ones because the off center dials directly in front of the driver were originally fitted to the clubman.

To make life a little harder, cable GSD415 also states it was fitted to all Mini's between 1976 and 1989. It's 48" long and is what I fitted to my 1990 Mini. GSD102 what Dan recommended is for LHD cars.

Dave.
