Oh dear! Been so busy! Havn't been down in ages :D

Have however got a pair of discs ordered locally for £32 a pair, and a set of pads sorted locally for £20 or something. Also got non-stretch driveshaft gaiters ordered, and have been recommended not to use the small stretchy gaiters, and use a cone. Not really a problem, as the oil needed changing anyway, so i'll take the drive shafts out, change the DS gaiters, and then replace the oil and filter.

Got exams on the 12th, 13th and 14th unfortunately, then it's my birthday the week after on the 22nd ... Not sure i'll be driving it on my birthday any more though - just run out of times when my mum's boyfriend and I are both free. Next thursday after college is looking positive, so hopefully we'll have the parts by then, and can fit some, probably gaiters. Once it's on the road I need to underseal all of the other arches too, and start to do some cosmetics, firstly rust and arches.

Also need a new throttle cable, choke cable, and air filter, then MOT time. Know someone who does MOT's too :errr: Mum's partner has been using him for years and the guy trusts he does the work, so any nasty surprises will be found, listed, and I can get them sorted - if you know what I mean ;)

Next up, tyres, then MOT time!

Hopefully a proper update soon! I wish I could get down there more! Not enough hours in the day! :)

What disks and pads have you bought then? At £32 a pair and £20 a pair that sounds quite expensive. I bought a pair of disks for £15 brand new from Malvern and some green stuff pads for £15 at IMM. At least your doing something to yours. I havnt got anything done to mine in almost a month now. Get paid friday though so thats all gonna change.

Not sure what pads they are Jon, but it's too late now anyway! Ah well. Picking the pads and dsics and DS gaiters up tomorrow, then thursday night after my last exam going down to get fitting!

This lot turned up today too!

Top quality throttle cable, choke cable, oil filter, and 2 pairs of ball joints :) - £37 though from MinSpares. Ouch.

Now, fit it all. Clean it. Tyres. MOT. Learner insurance. Tax. Away! - Only 10 days left though :D - Ack! - Then cosmetics time!

Updates Thursday night, or maybe tomorrow when I get my brake stuff. If i'm not revising for my exam like crazy! Now back to revision for tomorrows A-Level economics exam. Woooo!

Right, flying visit! Been so busy... Unfortunately not with the Mini! Damn college :( - 17 today though :(

Plan is to get the Mini ready for an MOT on the 1st/2nd/3rd. Mum's partner and I are both around next weekend, so we have to fit the right disk, pads, upper and lower ball joints, CV gaiter, choke cable, throttle cable, number plates, HT leads, oil filter, and oil... Hopefully then get it back here for an MOT while i'm at college on the 1st/2nd/3rd...

Got some money today, and some L plates :P - Can now afford my learner insurance, and my tax and year of insurance from when I pass :( - Might also have a job lined up! :(

Mum's boyfriend also surprised me today... Pressed metal plates, and HT leads - needed replacing... old :P - Also told me not to worry about the £80 I owed him in parts, including my disks, and pads and CV gaiters. PLUS gave me some money too! :) Brilliant!

So, gotta fit the stuff on the left side. Disk, pads, ball joints, and CV gaiter. Then choke cable, throttle cable, oil filter, oil, number plates, and HT leads.

So still got to source tyres quickly, and learner insurance to sort out too. Just ordered a new bracket for my lower engine steady, on the right of the gearbox. Bracket was broken, had been welded before too... Bracket was only £6 :) - That to fit too!

Then get it home, cleaned and polished in day light, not dingy garage... get some new tyres on, MOT done, taxed, L plates on, and get driving hopefully :) - Then cosmetic work starts!

Fitted the CV gaiter, upper and lower ball joints, disk, and pads on the right side last Thursday, now just got to do the other side. Sorry, no pictures, mad rush!

Pictures of my bits snapped on my phone, emailed to my photobucket email account, and should be up when I get home, and i'll post them. Quickest and easiest way when you're in a hurry without cables :)

Update with pictures of my new plates and HT leads later :)

Woooo! Now employed! 9 hours a week on a saturday... About £45 a week. Would like more, but that boosts my income to about £300 a month :shifty: = MINI BITS! :P

So, won't be getting the car ready for it's MOT next saturday, as i'll be working, but will do the work Sunday, and HOPEFULLY have an MOT by the Wednesday, latest ;)

Well, ought to update this, as we're nearly at a big mile stone! MOT early next week! :D

Tyres hopefully being fitted to the wheels i've got now tomorrow/over the weekend. Ordered and booked with National Tyres, normally expensive, but 4 fitted super budgets were only £120, and my Toyo's were £150. A smaller local place wanted £140 for budgets. Another wanted £160 for NANKANGS or something cheap... Seem's like I got the best deal I could. Will do until I treat it to Sportspack arches and some 13x7's before the summer hopefully.

Uploading pictures of all the work done last weekend, or most of it, but basically, ready to go! Will post again in a bit and update about last weekend

£120 don't sound to bad. I'm starting to need to tyres on mine but I really don't want to spend the money on them as I want to get the 10's after the body works done. Keep up the good work and good luck with the MOT.

It's not gone too great...

One Sunday we got around to getting down there, and I stripped down the other side, and while getting the driveshaft out to change the outer CV gaiter the inner one the gearbox end split, and it was a Sunday, and we couldn't get the bits... Anyway, was aiming for an MOT the following week, but that went out of the window then. So we carried on, and changed the upper and lower ball joint's/swivels, and fitted the new number plates, choke cable, throttle cable, oil filter, and tidied up the grill which was only held on at the top, and flapped around at the bottom.

My mum's partner got my gaiter, and some new number plate bolts to match the plates, so looks better than the pictures now. All fitted, and back together, with the new CV gaiter that we were trying to fit on as well...

Last Friday my wheels were taken away to have tyres fitted, ended up with budget's at £120 for 4 as the booking date had to be moved forwards, and they didn't have the Toyo's in... Ah well.

Now the car sits back on 4 wheels, with rubber, fresh oil and fuel, and almost complete, but there is now an electrical problem! All the lights are playing up! I'll give more details later once I speak to my mum's partner who was there fiddling yesterday.

Ohhh, also got some MK2 rear lights to put on now too :P

- But yes, very behind schedule, and even worse now... Stupid electrical problem!

Pictures and more info later

Would like some white back mirrors, and 4 spots soon too to finish for now...

Then next up after MOT is a new boot board, fix the turning passenger door handle, get a simple head unit in for now, get the tear in the drivers seat fixed for now, and clean the light middle panels of the seats up, new bonnet badge, and fix the aerial on the back that is pointing forwards for some reason, and won't go back.

Then bodywork, new arches and wheels, and an interior and engine bay tidy up!

Well, i'll find out, but i'm pretty sure they're legal and everything, my mum's partner who got them for me is a policeman :P

They don't have a suppliers name or location on them though, but i'm unlikely to get more than a telling off for that he said.
