Mini’s must have a sense of humour as today I decided to give my mini a once over before I go on the rolling road tomorrow.
I had broken the middle exhaust mount when I went to Bristol mini day on the rough road by the entrance, but only found it on the way to MITP when the back bracket fell off as well.
So today I decided to sort all these bits and pieces out, first the exhaust fell off in my hand it split off at the Y piece on the LCB, then while putting this back on I noticed that the LCB had moved and was touching the CV joint and had almost worn through the manifold, this had also melted the CV boot.
It’s all back together now and hopefully will be ok tomorrow, but why is it that mini’s do things like this to us?

Minis certainly have a sense of occasion, and a keen sense of irony, but they don't have a sense of humour as such. In this respect they are like cats (dogs have owners, cats have staff). In my experience they don't like us to get too complacent. And they HATE to be ignored.

Mine has an uncanny knack to have a light failure on leaving the pub. Have you ever tried to push the contacts together on the main beam stalk with a small screwdiver in the dark when its raining and the interior lights dont work?!?

I have to say its not highly recommended on the top 10 list of things to do on a Saturday Night

Mine seems to be aware of when I have some spare cash in my pocket, as it will without fail do something that means I have to spend it on the car. This months trick? A burst tyre (only two months after all 4 were replaced too!) and a leaking radiator...

I can't wait to see what it's going to do on payday next month...
