Hey,

I'm looking at getting a centre console but i don't know if i should get airvents or not.
Do they make a difference or are they for show?
Also what trim should i get?

Here is my dashboard: (it's a bit dark)

The airvents on consoles allow the heater to work when you've got it set to 'car' rather than 'screen'. Other than that all that lovely warm air takes a while to come out of the gaps around the tubing slots in the console sides

I probably wont bother with airvents then. I only use the windscreen heater.
What colour though?

Black
Silver
Aluminium
???
I have no idea

I'd say aluminium, to match the dash. They typically have black side panels, which will match the dash-rails. Win-Win situation

Just looked on custom consoles and its £90 for an engine turned (to match dash) centre console with air vents. They dont seem to do one with no air vents

Look around in the minimags and on t'interweb, you may well find one slightly less wallet-watering

Do a member search for

bert998

and just PM him with what you need. He runs RetroRetrims and you simply cannot
get better quality stuff. Not the cheapest but the cheapest is not what you want because
when it wears out / breaks or just doesn't fit in the first place you'll end up buying something
decent to replace it and therefore pay twice.

Quality counts and his is the only link I'm happy to have on our site (www.heagren.com/gallileo).

Best wishes
Monty

If you've got time, i'd suggest making your own. Searching for 10 minutes or so, and you can find some great plans. All you need is some MDF, a jigsaw and some paint. Here's mine, bit shabby, didn't have black paint at the time.

When I made mine, I found that getting a piece of stiff card and making your own template worked better, as every Mini's floor is a slightly different shape.

Its easy enough to make one yourself, give it a go, you might surprise yourself!! :D
