hi there love thi mini saw it in mini mag and im thinking about a engine spec very much near to yours without the 60+ boar. firstly i have just bought an unskimmed 12g295 cylinder head and was woundering weather you skimmed the head or just bolted it straight on. secoondly what sort of power are you getting from this engine in terms of top speed and acceleration. my mini is a henley blue 87 mayfair and is also my first car. cheers for any help.

alright mate, ah thanks Sweet! Well we had it skimmed mainly to be on the safe side just in case. As of power, we're still kinda running in so haven't 'really' been able to see exactly what it's capable of. But it seems to pull quickly even when not going for it, and for top speed, again, not really sure. But on the way home from Himley it was keeping up with traffic very well even with 3 people in it, and would sit at 70 all day long with no stress :D

I'm glad that I stumbled across this thread! I remember seeing it in the magizine a while back. What a car!

I've got to say, yours was one of the cars that persuaded me to buy my mini.

Excellent car mate, I love it!

thanks very much man! :D haha no worries glad that cleared it up for ya!

yeah definitely do!

well a while ago i fitted a side mount fibreglass bucket into the mini. i always found my red mini seat to be too high and i hated driving around feeling too big for the car basically! and my legs hurt like hell driving it

so i bought this a while ago for the drift car im building, but decided to put it in jimmy instead
Posted Image

i bolted it straight through the floor and behind the crossmember, so i'm basically sat on the floor now and as far back as possible before having to cut the rear bin! can't have a passenger behind me now but hey ho! perfect driving position

and here you can see how the seat back goes behind the b-pillar

Hi mate,

Not checked on this for a while. Looks absolutely amazing! Quite unbelievable that I started mine around the same year as yourself (2006) and how far ahead you are of me! Mines turning out quite similar to yours actually, just little differences. Have a look-see at my thread sometime and lemme know what you think.

Cheers
Chris

thanks man.

no not as of yet! would have liked to by now really but i cant afford to do that when my drift car build is soaking up all my spare time and money haha.

i have a 1275 engine sat in the garage that i'd like to build into a decent spec at some point, just never have time!
