I'm a returner to the Mini scene after having a 1991 Cooper back in 95. Great little car till it got stolen.
I'm new to the Modified Mini scene, but I've been messing around with VW's for years. I bought the current 1293 C Reg 'Cooperlike' as a runaround while my VW Scirocco ( The Rocco ) is off the road for a few months. But I can't help tinkering. :tongue:
No real plans for it at the moment as its current spec is:
Austin Mini 1293cc, log book has been changed to reflect the engine which is fitted.
Stage 3 tuned metro engine with twin SU carbs and Pipercross filters. Sportex straight through centre exit exhaust with Minisport 4 branch manifold with exhuast wrap. Has been on the rolling road and produces 89hp and 89ft/lbs torque. :tongue:
Interior has been retrimmed in black this includes new centre console door cards and new carpets, rear seats removed and kitted out for speakers.
Two Cobra Clubman buckets seats and full four point harness.
Has black powder coated rollcage which is bolted in.
New rear subframe.
Minilites, which I'm getting new tyres for tomorrow.
I plan to just tidy it up (yeah right) and get it through the MOT as it hasn't been driven for about 2 years. I've got new plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm, leads, oil and filter, and new fuse box as I noticed a few bits and pieces weren't working.
Any advice on what else to pay attention to? Its solid (and I mean solid) underneath, with just a few bits of rust around headlights, bottom of doors, boots and edge of the windscreen.
I can't wait to drive it around some of the roads around here. (Yorkshire)
