www.burlen.co.uk :D

If yours a proper 1275 gt engine, your carb should be an HS4. Get hold of a SU service manual i fyou can, its a very good handbook.

Yeah, stromberg carbs just look similar, and honestly i've never seen one fitted to a mini, maybe to some MGs, but not on a mini.
Cheers

post a picture up. strommies do look similar but they look more squashed than HS carbs. if it is a stromberg, get an HS4. strombergs really are no where near as good as HS in my opinion. got one on my viva and was considering going to HS carbs, but decided on weber instead :D

really dont see the point. as i said SU's are much better IMO. though i guess its something different on a mini.

after Jaydee said it should be a HS4 i went under the hood to have a propper look.. and it DEFFO isnt a SU..

The problem i am having is that it is there is a slight miss/hesitation when i put my foot to the floor through 1st 2nd & 3rd, but when i fully apply the manual choke it runs perfect through the gears (hence the fact i thought it was running a little weak).. i am doing a auto test on sunday, and am hoping to get it sorted by then..

Failing that i am bidding for an SU on ebay.. so fingers crossed i win the bid :proud:

B :)

if it is a stromberg - easy things to check are that there is enough damper oil in the top same as a SU and also take the top off - just a few screws- and make sure the diaphram has not split
