Hi all,
Thinking about my In car entertainment now that my mini is nearing completion. I've got a nice retro Pioneer Head unit, and I'm gonna get an ipod connection.
What do you think of this?

I'm thinking of a pair of 5 inch speakers up front in Bolton Bits door pockets (which I'm going to reinforce with fibreglass inside) and this sub under the rear seat.
I don't want absolute perfect sound quality, just something I can crank up and sounds good without sounding strained.
Any thoughts welcome

I used to have something similar to that and put it under the drivers seat.
It all depends on the quality of the sound you want.
Bass wise its either going to be less or equal to what you would expect from a pair of decent amped 6x9's, and the chances are that it will distort if you put the volume up with the gain over halfway. If you're going to put it under the back seats, it's going to be fairly poor sound quality as it's going to be firing into the base or the back seats.
In my opinion, although it bares the Pioneer brand and might sound like a simple fix to give a bit of oomph to you're system it's too expensive for what it does. You would be much better off getting all the basics of your car sound system in place first.
If you're not too bothered about sound quality but want 'quantity', just go for a decent amp (you can find a decent 4 channel amp for under £80 on fleabay) and a pair of 6x9's (Easily found for under £80) under the back seats , or if you're more of an audiophile go for a pair of components in the doors. Totalling 160 squids give or take. You'll have a much better system although it's a bit more work.
If you still crave bass, the only decent thing you can do is go for a sub in the boot or make an enclosure/board for under the back seats.

for people just wanting a quick fix i always recomend this
http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item3ca78d2afc
1000x better than the pioneer jobby. has its own amp and works very very well and less than half price but it will eat into your boot space
