hi,
My mum just text me to tell me the starter motor has turned up at 9 this morning..
Josh, this is the video of it in the previous owners car....as you can imagine it did sell it to me!!
Callum, I've taken them off as the police seemed to like pulling me over too much!! Whilst its fun to start with its gets very annoying very quickly when you know each officer and their shift times... lol
George, I will do. its just frustrating that I can't got home to do it!!
Thanks for looking!
Ian

Right,
so the good news is that ive got my new starter motor fitted and wired up correctly.....but.......
The enigines locking up after 180 degrees of turning it by hand so I will need to look into that..
I emailed the guy who built the engine thinking that it was valve timing but he seems to think that its the old cam in the block hitting the rods...which is only there to drive the oil pump and is not always timed up.
Had to walk away from it at the moment as I'm just so fed up. I'm gonna have to take the engine out to time it up I think, or atleast take a load of things out to get to the cam chain.
Should be making some progress soon as I'm determined to get it fixed.
Thanks for looking,
Ian

hi,
More good news? bad news! lol
So I managed to get the engine spinning over on the starter motor...but now no spark
Despite putting off taking all of the cambelt off it wasn't actually too bad...just an evenings work in the end!
Between the engine builder and myself we've come up with a couple of ideas as to why its not sparking. I think its a dead coil pack and he thinks that the crank sensor spacing may be wrong.
In the process of moving back home from uni which isnt helping me check things quickly but its so close I can smell it now!
Just popped to Himley hall for a day out in the sun with the mrs and picked up some new goodridge brake hoses for the front
Cheers,
Ian

so.....
Should really have kept this updated
I did manage to get this sorted in the end after a visit to specialist components (great guys too!) to sort out a few issues I had with it not starting.
Drove it to 50 or so miles home and it is an absolute animal!! very torquey and drivable, with a great top end too!!
However, still a few issues to sort:
*No temp gauge (one ordered and now fitted)
*No oil pressure gauge (ditto)
*Found a few oil leaks which mean a strip down to sort (now in the process of doing this) does mean retiming the cams
*Want to sort out the wiring out a bit as it look a bit, well, naff.
*Still got some paintwork to sort on the scuttle and a general tidy up inside and out, might put the heater back in too......
*Oh, and I've brought an oil cooler just to make sure it doesn't get too hot in there!!
Anyway, now that I've bored you all ill get some pics up in the next couple of days.
Thanks for looking!
