Hi guys,
I know that some people on here have contacted BMH and found some information about their Mini when it rolled off the production line. What do the records tell you? (I'm looking to find out if my Mini still has the original engine). Also what's the procedure to find out?

Cheers,
Ben.

I think you can only get a heritage certificate if your mini was made pre 1969 :proud:

Not sure what a heritage certificate is... don't they have records for cars made after 1969?

Yeah, i'd be really interested in finding out more about my Patches, she came with no history whatsoever >_< If anyone knows who you could contact to get a good history file, BMH or otherwise, let me know! cheers.

Sorry for hijacking, give the thread starters questions priority :D

Apparently.. if you go on the DVLA website and print off a V888 and send it to the dvla with a cheque for a fiver you can get photocopies of all the previous v5s.

Win

(i say apparently because its from Practical Classics magazine and thus i've yet to try it!)

The heritage certificate contains all the factory recorded details of the car such as spec, trim etc etc.The factory stopped keeping records after 1969 i beleive.

Check the 4th question down: -

So I assume that's a dating letter and costs just 20 quid instead of 39 quid for a full heritage certificate?
